The Blessing System
“Eremo charged me a small fortune for his ‘Wisdom of Solitude.’ The true wisdom, I later discovered, is that living alone on an island and charging terrified adventurers a toll is the most profitable business in the world.” — Druid recently resurrected at the temple.
The Five Blessings
Death has its price in RUBERA. The five blessings reduce the loss of experience and skills, but obtaining complete protection requires a pilgrimage to five sacred places scattered across the world.
Each blessing reduces the base loss caused by death by 8%. With all five, the total reduction reaches 40% compared with dying without any blessings.
Five Blessings, Five Sacred Places
- The Embrace of Tibia
Granted by Humphrey, among the druids north of Carlin.
- The Fire of the Suns
Granted by Edala, at the Suntower near Ab'Dendriel.
- The Spark of the Phoenix
Completed with Kawill and Pydar in Kazordoon.
- The Spiritual Shielding
Granted by Norf, at the Whiteflower Temple south of Thais.
- The Wisdom of Solitude
Granted by Eremo, on the island of Cormaya.
The ancient ankh can be used to check which blessings your character currently has.
The Spark of the Phoenix
The Spark of the Phoenix is obtained in two parts within Kazordoon.
First, speak with Kawill to receive the blessing of the earth. This step costs no gold. Then visit Pydar, who grants the blessing of fire and charges the normal price of one blessing.
Characters carrying a Phoenix Egg in their inventory receive a 10% discount when paying Pydar.
Blessing Prices
- Up to level 100: 10,000 gold per blessing.
- Above level 100: 10,000 gold plus 100 gold for each level above 100.
For example, a level 150 character pays 15,000 gold per blessing. All five would normally cost 75,000 gold, although the Phoenix Egg discount may reduce the price of the Spark of the Phoenix.
The sacred NPCs serve characters on both free and premium accounts.
Protection for Your Progression
Blessings reduce the experience and skill loss caused by death. Their effects stack linearly:
- One blessing: 8% reduction.
- Two blessings: 16% reduction.
- Three blessings: 24% reduction.
- Four blessings: 32% reduction.
- Five blessings: 40% reduction.
This reduction is applied to the character's normal death penalty. Blessings lessen the losses, but they do not eliminate them.
Equipment Requires Different Protection
Blessings do not reduce the chance of losing equipment.
To protect carried items, you will need to use an Amulet of Loss. Blessings protect character progression, while the amulet protects equipment. They serve different purposes and should be considered separately before entering a dangerous area.
After Death
All five blessings are removed when the character dies.
The protection is applied to that death, after which the pilgrimage must be completed again. Before returning to a dangerous hunt or expedition, check your blessings and decide whether renewing them is worth the cost and risk.
Quick Highlights
- Five blessings found in five sacred places.
- 8% less experience and skill loss per blessing.
- Up to a 40% reduction with all five.
- The price increases after level 100.
- Available to free and premium accounts.
- Blessings do not protect equipment.
- All blessings are lost after death.
RUBERA's blessings reward preparation without taking away the weight of death. Their protection must be sought, paid for, and renewed, making the journey itself part of the price of facing greater dangers.
